Pathways to Freedom Series
Myths, Perceptions, Language of Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health

February 17, 2022
6:30pm – 8:30PM, ZOOM

2 PCB Credit Hours

Workshop Description:

This training will examine what constitutes a “recovery-oriented environment” and how perception rules language and interaction, and ultimately the recovery process. Participants will develop understanding on how critical the role of the environment can be to a person in early recovery.  We will discuss stigma and attitudes that guide treatment and recovery services and look at our language and beliefs surrounding recovery.

As a result of this workshop, the participant will gain a better understanding …

  • on how critical the role of the environment can be for a person in early recovery;
  • of how stigma and attitudes guide treatment and recovery impact services; and
  • on how our language and beliefs around recovery impact progress.
