With the three Uganda treatment centers on board to support recovery houses as a strategy for reducing the high relapse rates among clients leaving residential treatment, the GOAL/UCU AOD project is on course to achieve its goal. Along with stabilizing and supporting 12-step groups such as AA and NA, in January and February I trained recovery coaches at UCU. Those trained will now be essential for supporting the newly sober and preventing relapse.
In addition, UCU plans to implement a research project with Uganda Anglican schools participating and to continue counseling and prevention programs on campus under Ps Ezra Napoleon Timuruhirwe’s leadership.
GOAL needs your continued prayers and financial support for this UCU/AOD vital project and for my oversight and training for their AOD program.
