Barry Cooper, M.S. is currently the Executive Director for the Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (JACOA) in Jackson, Tennessee. JACOA is a 41 bed residential substance abuse treatment center/transitional housing program in Jackson, Tennessee. He has worked in the mental health/substance abuse profession for 12 years. Before being appointed as the Executive Director of JACOA, Barry served as the Assistant Executive Director and Director of Prevention at JACOA. Barry served as the President of the Jackson-Madison County Community Anti-Drug Coalition from 2006-2010 and currently participates as a volunteer member. Barry currently serves as the chair of the board for the Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drugs and other Addiction Services and also sits on the TAADAS legislative committee. Barry has served on two medical mission trips to Williamson, Haiti and is actively involved in mission work there through Fellowship Bible Church, HaitiChildren and the TSED orphanage in Port Au Prince.
DAVID TENHWA, MBA
David manages a business and tax consulting firm in Lancaster and Harrisburg. He received his undergraduate degree from Makere University in Uganda and his masters in accounting and federal tax from Millersville University. As newly elected treasurer he brings to the Board his professional business and management experience in both Africa and the US as well as executive leadership skills.
In 2015, Carrie Lapp joined GOAL as a volunteer, assisting with workshops. Carrie is a registered nurse who specializes in working with mental health and addiction patients since she graduated from Brandywine Hospital’s School of Nursing in 1991. She has experience working in detox and rehab treatment facilities. She has served as the executive director of the Connection Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Carrie also spent time working at Chester County Hospital in her position as an addictions mental health case manager in the emergency room. Currently, Carrie is serving as Co-chair of the Education Committee of Lancaster County Recovery Alliance. She lives in Gap, Pennsylvania, and manages a family business with her husband in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Trisha Stover, BA; CRS; is employed with Catholic Charities at a women’s recovery home in Lancaster, PA. She applies christian values, formal education, and personal experience as a person in long term recovery. She is familiar with treatment models for Substance Abuse and integrates those with Behavioral Health systems which develop holistic wellness in life long recovery. The development of spirituality with the 12-step program and a connection with faith based organizations enhances the recovery journey.
PHILIP DVORAK, MS LMHC
Philip Dvorak, MS LMHC is a leader in the field of addictions treatment. He coauthored a 30 Day recovery guide with Dr. Paul Meier (founder of Meier Clinics) and Dr. Jared Pingleton (Vice President American Association of Christian Counselors). His treatment curriculums have been published by Hazelden and have been implemented by a number of treatment centers across the country. Pastor Phil is the Chief Operation Operating Officer of Dynamic Life Recovery Centers in Florida and a Senior Pastor, licensed by Christian Missionary Alliance, at Recovery Church, as well as a licensed mental health counselor. Phil has trained thousands of professionals on substance abuse prevention techniques and strategies and his prevention training have been broadcast on television. He is a devoted husband, father and a servant leader. He has faithfully served as a church planter, a youth minister, counselor and pastor. Before coming to Dynamic Life Recovery Centers, Pastor Phil was the Christian Program Director at another highly regarded treatment center.
PS SAM WANJAU
Sam pastors the African Community Church and is a part time counselor with Revelation of Freedom drug and alcohol rehab in Lancaster, PA. He holds both a bachelors and masters degree in counseling from Lancaster Bible College. He has a keen interest in mental health and drug and alcohol counseling and prevention in Kenya.
